Dakota Country Inn & Suites is a 30 room motel located in the small town of Platte, SD.  The original motel was built in 1984 by Don and Gwen Merrink.  Doug and Shelly Merrink purchased the motel around 1986, and owned the motel until they sold it to Ed Nicolay around 2010.  On July 31, 2013, Conrad and Virginia DeKam bought the motel from Ed Nicolay.  Since purchasing the motel, we have been and will be making many changes and upgrades to the motel.  All of our rooms have been refreshed with a coat of paint, and the bathroom facilities renewed.

We pride ourselves in the customer service we provide to our customers.  For the year 2018, we received recognition from Bookings.com for obtaining a rating of 9 out of a possible score of 10 from our customers.  We're members of the Platte Area Chamber of Commerce, South Dakota Missouri River Tourism, South Dakota Retailers Association, South Dakota Hotel and Lodging Association and a Rooster Booster member of Pheasants Forever.
